About The Position

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a loving and dedicated housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the home for senior priests at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO. This role involves ensuring a comfortable and well-maintained living environment for the priests.

Requirements

A mature, honest, and caring adult with good housekeeping skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with the priests and team members.
Ability to keep priests’ personal information confidential.
Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and operate appliances.
Ability to work alone and in team settings.
Ability to receive and follow directions from administrator.
Ability to vacuum and dust, to wet mop bathrooms, to make a neat bed.
Ability to keep cart with cleaning materials supplied and neat.
Communicate with a friendly and happy disposition.
Stand, Bend, Push/Pull/Lift up to 40 pounds consistently during a four-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Gather information from the Front Office regarding priest rooms that need special attention, i.e. who is sick, hospitalized, vacation, etc.
Recognize and respond to smoke alarms, fire alarms, and other emergencies.
Be alert to unusual situations such as changes in a priest's routine or signs of health decline.
Empty waste cans daily and make beds, changing sheets weekly on Mondays (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday or the regular housekeeper is absent).
Clean bathrooms thoroughly, including shower, toilet, sink, fixtures, glass, and floor, and ensure adequate supply of towels.
Check and replenish toilet paper and soap, keeping one extra in the bathroom.
Dust furniture, shelves, and blinds at least once a week.
Vacuum rooms, halls, and linen closets at least once a week, moving furniture as needed with assistance from maintenance for larger pieces.
Defrost room refrigerators and clean the hall refrigerator weekly, including the top.
Perform deep cleaning of a priest's room when they are away, collaborating with maintenance and other housekeepers as needed.
Report any maintenance issues to the maintenance team or administrator.
Perform other duties as requested by the administrator.
In empty rooms: clean toilet and run water fixtures once weekly, vacuum/dust once monthly.
