About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring Housekeepers at The Residence at Shelburne Bay. This role is responsible for conducting all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner that reflects LCB’s values. The Housekeeper must be able to properly clean residents' rooms and residence common areas including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, and disinfecting. They will discard waste into proper containers and assist with any general housekeeping duties necessary. The essential duties and responsibilities include thoroughly cleaning bathrooms, kitchen areas, emptying wastebaskets, dusting and polishing surfaces, cleaning carpets, cleaning common areas and bathrooms daily, maintaining housekeeping carts, removing, folding, and returning bed linens, washing and folding linens, filling other positions as needed, cleaning and washing windows, cleaning and dusting blinds, and general pick-up outside as needed. The role also involves attending required in-service training and orientations.

Requirements

  • Must have appropriate training and/or background in a similar setting.
  • Must be able to properly clean residents' rooms and residence common areas including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, disinfecting, etc.
  • Discard waste into proper containers and assist with any general housekeeping duties necessary.
  • The ability to maintain a clean and neat environment is required.
  • Knowledge of cleaning practices and substances is required.
  • The ability to identify cleaning needs and safety hazards is required.
  • The ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing is required.
  • Requires frequent lifting, bending, stretching, kneeling and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) lbs., and be able to carry objects.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand.
  • Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
  • Must use good body mechanics.
  • Must be able to use cleaning equipment, such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, buffers, and chemicals in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks with consideration for residents, visitors, and any worker in the area.
  • Must project a positive attitude towards the service provided.
  • Associate may be subject to potential exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials, and to handling hazardous chemicals (either Category 1 or 2).

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping experience in health care or hospitality setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers and the surrounding community.
  • Have an active role in growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals.
  • Thoroughly clean the bathrooms; toilet, vanity, sink, shower, shower seat and floor with cleaning solution.
  • Clean kitchen areas completely; wipe counters and under objects, mop kitchen floors.
  • Empty wastebaskets and replace bags.
  • Dust and polish all surfaces.
  • Wipe off all surfaces; windowsills, woodwork and counters.
  • Clean carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, disinfecting, etc.
  • Clean all common areas and common bathrooms on a daily basis, and as often as needed.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts in clean, orderly manner.
  • Attend required in-service training and orientations.
  • Remove, fold and return bed linens.
  • Wash and fold linens.
  • Fill other positions as needed when someone is out.
  • Clean and wash windows.
  • Clean and dust blinds.
  • General pick-up outside as needed.
  • Other duties as requested.
