About The Position

The Housekeeper, reporting directly to the Maintenance Director, is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors by performing housekeeping and laundry services throughout the community. This role ensures that resident apartments, common areas, restrooms, offices, and linens are maintained in accordance with established policies, procedures, and schedules. The Housekeeper also supports overall operations by restocking supplies, reporting repair needs, and collaborating with maintenance and other staff to promote a healthy and welcoming environment for all.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and any HR-related systems as applicable.
  • Individuals in this position are required to follow all infection prevention and control protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, to ensure the health and safety of residents, staff, and visitors.
  • This role involves actively participating in all staff activities aimed at fostering teamwork, unity, and morale. The individual will contribute as a collaborative team player, working alongside colleagues to create a supportive and cohesive work environment.
  • Individuals in this position are required to stay current on all training and ongoing education initiatives. They are expected to actively pursue self-improvement and embrace opportunities for continuous learning to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Housekeeping experience preferred.
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, trash removal.
  • Perform cleaning duties to a schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) in assigned areas such as resident apartments, common areas, restrooms, and offices throughout the community.
  • Collect and launder soiled linens in accordance with policies & regulations designed to protect the health, and hygiene of our residents and team members.
  • Fold, sort, and distribute clean laundry.
  • Report supply and equipment needs to Supervisor and restock/replenish supplies as needed.
  • Work in coordination with maintenance – reporting any necessary repairs noticed during the workday.
  • Ensure effective communication is being utilized by community staff with the residents’ families concerning residents’ care, encompassing their physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work well with others and take direction from management, as well as taking initiative with the capability to engage in conflict intervention and resolution for residents, families, employees, and others as needed.
