About The Position

An Environmental Services Housekeeper plays a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitized environment for patients, families, and staff, contributing to healing and exceptional patient care. The role involves planning daily tasks with supplies, managing time effectively, prioritizing high-need areas, and adapting work tempo to hospital demands. Responsibilities include performing in-patient room discharge cleaning to maintain aseptic conditions according to approved standards, and daily cleaning and sanitation of various spaces such as patient rooms, offices, public areas, and clinical spaces. Cleaning must meet or exceed hospital standards outlined in department policies. The position requires collaborating and building professional relationships with colleagues, leaders, staff, patients, and families, and communicating needs for assigned areas to relevant personnel. Continuous physical activity is expected throughout the shift. Other duties may be assigned based on hospital and patient needs.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of one year of experience in a position requiring customer services skills is preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs in-patient room discharge cleaning to ensure a clean and aseptic environment that meets approved cleaning standards.
• Performs daily cleaning and sanitation of patient rooms, office spaces, public spaces, clinical spaces, etc.
• Performs cleaning in a manner that meets or exceeds hospital cleaning standards as outlined in the department policies.
• Collaborates and builds relationships with coworkers, leaders, staff, patients and families in a professional manner.
• Communicates needs for assigned areas to clinical/support staff, leaders and other housekeepers as needed.
• Requires continuous physical activity throughout the shift.
• Other duties as assigned depending on hospital and patient needs.
