About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas in a long-term care facility. The role includes cleaning, laundry, organization, waste management, and basic safety and maintenance responsibilities to help maintain an environment that is safe, pleasant, and well-presented for residents and family members. The Housekeeper may also interact with residents and guests, respond to cleaning-related requests, and maintain a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills.
Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
Comfort working with cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Nice To Haves

Previous housekeeping experience.
Familiarity with cleaning tools, equipment, and products.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust facility areas.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, and bedrooms.
Change bed linens and make beds.
Wash windows and mirrors as required.
Clean floors, carpets, rugs, and furniture.
Wash, dry, fold, and iron laundry as needed.
Ensure linens are cleaned and replaced; sort and organize laundry and linens for storage.
Keep rooms, hallways, and common areas organized and well-presented.
Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and cleaning materials.
Empty trash cans, dispose of waste appropriately, and recycle items as necessary.
Use cleaning products and tools safely and according to guidelines.
Report maintenance issues, such as broken equipment or plumbing problems, to appropriate personnel.
Greet residents and guests, attend to their comfort and needs, and respond to special cleaning or service requests.
Maintain professionalism and courtesy when interacting with others.
