The primary role of a Housekeeper is to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility and its surroundings. This includes basic and periodic cleaning tasks, the safe and effective use of various cleaning solvents and chemicals etc., and adherence to a set cleaning schedule.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year housekeeping experience required
  • Completion of secondary school (grade 12) at the start of employment required
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Must be personable, friendly and outgoing with excellent customer service skills
  • Maintaining a professional appearance with a positive attitude
  • Adaptable, flexible, patient, helpful and interested in the welfare of guests and staff
  • Great attention to detail and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Follows staff conduct policies and time management guidelines
  • Organized and able to prioritize workload
  • Able to multi-task for the benefit of quality services
  • Able to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to work on feet and work both indoors and outdoors

Responsibilities

  • Performing a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing, laundry services, emergency housekeeping when accidents occur
  • Following cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) as outlined for housekeeping department
  • Checking stock levels of all consumables and replacing when appropriate, monitoring cleaning supplies and ordering more as needed
  • Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, countertops, sinks
  • Washing windows, vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs
  • Effectively and safely using a variety of cleaning equipment including various cleaning solvents, chemicals etc. in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements
  • Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste
  • Supporting event setup and takedown
  • Reporting any necessary repairs or replacements
  • Performing all other duties as required
