About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, organized, discreet, and versatile Housekeeper to oversee the upkeep and day-to-day management of a private residence located in Hampstead, Montreal. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, well-presented, organized, and comfortable home environment. This individual will also occasionally prepare the evening meal, ready to be served or reheated, according to the family's needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Housekeeper, Household Assistant, or in the maintenance of a private residence.
  • Enjoys cooking and is comfortable preparing simple, healthy, family-style meals.
  • Must be fluent in either English or French.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Discretion, reliability, honesty, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Proactive, meticulous, versatile, and committed to maintaining high standards.
  • Respect for confidentiality and the family environment.
  • Positive attitude and strong adaptability.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the overall cleanliness of occupied areas, including general housekeeping, dusting, and floor care.
  • Perform deep cleaning as required, including bathrooms, showers, the oven, terrace, and balconies.
  • Ensure the home remains clean, organized, welcoming, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Make beds and change linens as needed.
  • Organize storage areas, closets, and personal belongings.
  • Monitor and rotate food items in the refrigerator and pantry.
  • Store, organize, and rotate seasonal clothing.
  • Care for furniture, delicate surfaces, and items requiring special attention.
  • Ensure the residence remains functional, orderly, and well maintained.
  • Sort, wash, fold, and iron clothing and household linens.
  • Provide general care for garments and textile items.
  • Perform minor clothing repairs and alterations as needed.
  • Maintain closets and wardrobes in an organized and orderly manner.
  • Occasionally prepare the evening meal.
  • Prepare simple, healthy, and well-balanced meals.
  • Ensure meals are ready to be served or reheated according to established instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly kitchen following meal preparation.
  • Provide daily care for three (3) dogs.
  • Coordinate walks, grooming appointments, veterinary visits, and related pet care needs.
  • Run household errands, including grocery shopping and replenishment of household supplies.
  • Occasionally transport children to activities, appointments, and other engagements.
  • Welcome contractors and service providers attending the residence.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous presence with vendors and external service providers.
  • Oversee service visits as required and communicate any relevant information to the family.
  • Manage waste, recycling, and related household tasks.
  • Report any issues requiring attention within the residence.
