About The Position

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary healthcare environment to help prevent the spread of infection and disease. This position performs routine and specialized cleaning, sanitization, waste removal, and floor-care duties throughout patient and non-patient areas of the Medical Center. The role also assists with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed while following established infection-control, safety, and departmental procedures. This role does not require patient care.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
Related experience 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely.
Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.

Responsibilities

Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties in accordance with established schedules, organizational standards, and infection-control guidelines.
Maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, orderly, and sanitary condition.
Removes and properly disposes of designated waste streams in accordance with established procedures.
Cleans and services assigned rooms, departments, common areas, and other Medical Center spaces.
Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies within and between Medical Center departments as needed.
Performs a variety of housekeeping and environmental services duties to support a clean and professional healthcare environment.
Safely operates assigned cleaning and floor-care equipment, including floor machines and buffers.
Follows appropriate procedures for cleaning, sanitizing, and handling potentially contaminated materials.
Participates in a minimum of eight department or unit meetings annually.
Performs additional environmental services duties as assigned.
