About The Position

The primary responsibility of the housekeeping staff is to clean and maintain the hotel rooms in a timely manner, ensuring that the guest rooms are clean and pleasant. The housekeeping duties include but are not limited to; daily preparation of rooms, changing linens on the bed, upkeep of linen closets, cleaning of toilets, sinks, showers, changing linens and cleaning floors. Housekeepers may be asked to help the maintenance (janitorial) staff when needed, provide support to the front desk as needed, assist guests in any manner possible (getting ironing boards, cribs, etc.), and answer questions of all sorts. This job plays a large role in giving the guests a most comfortable and enjoyable stay. Housekeepers will be responsible and held accountable for the finished rooms, cleaning projects, as well as knowledge of company policies and procedures as they relate to housekeeping. Housekeepers must also provide excellent customer service to hotel guests and customers, as necessary. This position requires mental agility and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced and deadline-oriented environment. A housekeeper must also have the ability to work well independently and as a member of a team.

Requirements

  • Must be 16+ years old.
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred.
  • Enjoy working in a busy customer service-oriented environment.
  • Mental agility.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain hotel rooms in a timely manner.
  • Ensure guest rooms are clean and pleasant.
  • Daily preparation of rooms.
  • Change linens on the bed.
  • Upkeep of linen closets.
  • Cleaning of toilets, sinks, and showers.
  • Cleaning floors.
  • Assist maintenance (janitorial) staff when needed.
  • Provide support to the front desk as needed.
  • Assist guests in any manner possible (e.g., getting ironing boards, cribs).
  • Answer guest questions.
  • Be responsible and held accountable for finished rooms and cleaning projects.
  • Possess knowledge of company policies and procedures as they relate to housekeeping.
  • Provide excellent customer service to hotel guests and customers.
  • Work well independently and as a member of a team.
