About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor assists the Director of Housekeeping to ensure the highest level of cleanliness for both the guest rooms and public areas in accordance with Brand standards. This role involves completing shift procedures, assigning daily tasks, inspecting guest rooms, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for guests and associates.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years in Housekeeping in a Hotel or similar Supervisory experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Able to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-pace, high-energy and demanding work environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and guests.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety related procedures while performing all tasks.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with co-workers and guests.
  • Ability to work with chemical cleaners and disinfectants.
  • Able to communicate via radio and phone as needed.
  • Knowledgeable of hotel property, amenities, area attractions and transportation.
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards is essential.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Able to work varied shifts, including Weekday, Evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.

Responsibilities

  • Completes beginning/ending shift procedures, including opening and closing the house utilizing computer systems.
  • Assigns daily work tasks to Room Attendants.
  • Ensures Room Attendants have appropriate supplies and linens.
  • Inspects guest rooms for cleanliness, proper amenity, and literature placement.
  • Ensures 100% positive inspection rate on guestrooms and floors.
  • Follows daily sign-in/out key control procedures.
  • Follows up on daily assignments of subordinates.
  • Updates room statuses in the computer.
  • Assists in cleaning guest rooms when necessary.
  • Interacts with other hotel departments to achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Reports any needed repairs or discrepancies of guest rooms.
  • Ensures check-out/vacated rooms are a priority.
  • Ensures hotel, guest, and associates are maintained in a safe and secure environment.
  • Inspects the level of cleanliness in guest rooms, storage areas, laundry areas, restrooms, public areas, and all office areas.
  • Reports and tracks all lost and found items.
  • Documents and communicates maintenance requests to the Engineering Department.
  • Follows proper hotel safety policies and procedures and uses safety equipment as needed.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
  • Ensures work area is clean and clear of standing water, debris, or any objects that can obstruct job duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works side-by-side with and gives regular updates and reports to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Leads from the front to set a good example for the staff.
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings.
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information and protects company assets.
