About The Position

The Housekeeper position is responsible for the cleanliness of assigned areas, offices, building facilities, or other residential spaces associated with a business unit for WashU. Primary duties include daily cleaning of areas such as entryways, entry lounges, restrooms, stairwells, hallways, floor lounges, study rooms, laundry areas, student suites (bathrooms), and student suites (vacuuming living rooms). The role also involves detail projects within residential areas as assigned. During summer months, daily assignments and buildings worked in change frequently based on need. Communication with the housekeeping supervisor is crucial for relaying issues concerning assignments, student concerns, building or furniture problems, or the need for supplies and equipment. The position requires reporting all observed maintenance issues in resident areas to the Residential Life Center or Facilities customer service, reporting suspicious persons to Campus Police, and adhering to the rules and regulations of WashU in St. Louis. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • A Class E (MO) or Class D (IL) license and a good driving record are required.
  • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. to waist level.
  • Candidates must be on their feet most of the day.
  • Frequently bends, kneels, and squats throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Performing other duties as assigned.
