About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and guest-ready rooms and public areas in accordance with hotel brand standards and company expectations. This role plays an important part in creating a positive guest experience through attention to detail, organization, and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school education preferred.
  • Prior housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience operating commercial washers and dryers preferred but not required.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments.
  • Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals, vacuums, and housekeeping equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong understanding of hotel operating procedures and housekeeping standards.
  • Be knowledgeable of room types, room layouts, and required guest room supplies.
  • Inspect guest rooms for cleanliness, maintenance concerns, or damages and report issues promptly to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms according to hotel standards.
  • Replenish guest supplies, linens, and amenities.
  • Report completed and inspected rooms to the Front Desk as ready for sale.
  • Dust and clean all guest room furnishings including: Televisions, Desks and desk chairs, Lamps and lamp shades, Air conditioning units, Headboards, Nightstands, Wall décor and fixtures, Window ledges.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts and cleaning supplies in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
  • Respond to guest requests promptly and professionally.
  • Handle guest concerns courteously and effectively.
  • Promote a positive and professional environment with guests, coworkers, and management.
  • Assist with laundry duties and public area cleaning as assigned.
  • Complete deep cleaning projects when scheduled.
  • Ensure “No Service” rooms are approved by housekeeping inspection or Front Desk leadership.
  • Follow all hotel safety policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
  • Maintain personal cleanliness, professional appearance, uniform standards, and nametag requirements.
  • Demonstrate discretion and professionalism while working around hotel guests.
  • Be flexible with scheduling, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
