About The Position

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna is a resort-style senior living community designed around comfort, connection, and personalized support. As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in creating a clean, safe, comfortable, and inviting space for residents, families, and team members.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, and movement as needed.
  • Must be flexible, calm, and professional in changing or stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to utilize technology and resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Previous housekeeping, environmental services, hospitality, hotel, senior living, healthcare, or similar experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining connected to the broader team.
  • A friendly, respectful, and service-oriented approach with residents and families.
  • Ability to manage priorities and remain calm when needs shift.
  • Dependability, strong follow-through, and a positive attitude.
  • Comfort using cleaning equipment, supplies, and technology efficiently and effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping or environmental services training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Dust, vacuum, sanitize, and clean furniture, fixtures, flooring, resident spaces, and common areas.
  • Complete routine, project, and emergency cleaning as needed.
  • Maintain assigned cleaning schedules and document or report damage in apartments and common areas.
  • Keep public areas, corridors, offices, and shared spaces clean, organized, and clutter-free.
  • Properly use and maintain cleaning equipment, carts, and supplies.
  • Notify leadership of supply and inventory needs.
  • Follow proper chemical-use procedures and ensure chemicals are secured when not in use.
  • Empty trash, restock cleaning carts, and prepare supplies for the next shift.
  • Assist with watering and pruning live plants in assigned areas.
  • Partner with Maintenance and promptly report safety, repair, or facility concerns.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
