About The Position

The Housekeeper keeps the community clean and safe for residents, families, associates, and visitors. Duties include cleaning resident apartments and common areas, handling residents’ personal laundry and bed linens and towels, responding to housekeeping requests, and maintaining clean and safe work areas. The position follows applicable safety procedures, including safe chemical handling and proper handling of biohazardous waste, and completes required monthly in-service education. Weekend and holiday work may be assigned; shifts other than the one hired for and extended hours may also be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to bend, reach, and work in small areas.
Ability to push and pull equipment and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Availability to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
May need to work other shifts or extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned resident apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, surfaces, and exposed areas.
Clean halls, landings, stairs, activity areas, lobbies, elevators, model apartments, vacant apartments, and public restrooms.
Wash and dry resident personal laundry, bed linens, and towels using appropriate products.
Maintain housekeeping and laundry carts and secure chemicals properly.
Respond to requests and address housekeeping concerns.
Complete required monthly in-service education hours.
Follow emergency procedures for chemical misuse and proper procedures for biohazardous waste and chemical storage.
Communicate with the supervisor and associates, including advising the supervisor when supplies need ordering or concerns arise.
Provide an outstanding customer experience for residents and visitors.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or department head.
