About The Position

The Housekeeper performs light cleaning to keep common areas and designated resident rooms clean and orderly at Teal Creek Assisted Living in Edmond, Oklahoma. Duties include making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, general upkeep, changing linens, and removing trash. The role may also include laundry and cleaning spills or accidents.

The Housekeeper cleans common areas, offices, resident apartments, public restrooms, and the employee breakroom. Building cleaning may include baseboards, ceiling light fixtures, and other hard-to-reach areas. The position is full-time and works the day shift.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• At least one year of prior commercial or institutional housekeeping experience.
• Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies or personnel, and the general public.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel and handle residents according to their current maturity level.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, and disinfecting solutions.
• Ability to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in assisted living (AL), independent living (IL), or a skilled nursing facility (SNF).

Responsibilities

• Clean main common areas and offices daily, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning windows.
• Clean residents’ apartments, including bathrooms and toilets, and handle trash, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Clean public restrooms and the employee breakroom.
• Vacuum halls and the front lobby according to the schedule or as needed.
• Empty office trash daily.
• Clean building areas as needed, including baseboards, ceiling light fixtures, and other hard-to-reach areas.
• Keep common-area furniture clean and free of dust and clutter.
• Perform laundry functions as needed.
• Provide cleaning following spills and accidents as needed.
