About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms, hallways, and public areas at Hampton Inn Dunn. The role includes preparing and stocking work carts, attending morning stand-up meetings, assisting with dirty linen in the housekeeping laundry room, thoroughly cleaning and restocking assigned guest rooms, and completing additional cleaning projects as assigned by a supervisor. All hotel areas, including front- and back-of-house spaces, are expected to remain clean, organized, and safe.

Team members are expected to provide friendly, welcoming service, contribute to guest satisfaction, follow hotel procedures and checklists, communicate professionally, and work collaboratively. The position requires a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and help beyond traditional role boundaries, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment. A varied schedule may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

The job involves substantial physical activity, including stooping, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, standing, walking, repetitive hand and wrist motions, and lifting housekeeping items such as linens, trash, or vacuums. Requirements

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly during their stay and use their names when possible.
• Contribute to guest satisfaction and respond to challenging guest situations with hospitality and urgency.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities and amenities, and support hotel groups and events as needed.
• Keep front- and back-of-house areas clean, organized, and safe; pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed.
• Complete operational checklists accurately and at designated times, and provide accurate, timely shift handover reports.
• Wear a clean, approved uniform and nametag and maintain grooming standards.
• Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with team members and collaborate to support guests and the workplace.
• Complete pre-cleaning duties, including stocking assigned work carts, attending morning stand-up meetings, and folding or assisting with dirty linen in the housekeeping laundry room.
• Thoroughly clean and restock the assigned number of guest rooms per shift.
• Complete additional cleaning projects as assigned, including storage rooms, public spaces, guest laundry, and deep cleaning guest rooms.
• Arrive and clock in on time, clock out at the scheduled shift end unless directed otherwise, and never work off the clock.
• Clock in and out for breaks at the designated scheduled times.
• Provide sufficient notice, as directed by a supervisor, when calling out for a scheduled shift.
