About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for the general cleanliness of various areas within the hospital, including procedure areas, patient care areas, restrooms, offices, and other areas requiring Environmental Services support. The routine work involves sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping, and surface cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, sinks, mirrors, showers, commodes, windows, and other glass areas, as well as waiting areas and public hallways. This role also includes performing linen and trash removal, and terminal cleaning of isolation or exam rooms as required. Moving furniture and heavy equipment may also be part of the duties. The employee must complete established competencies within the designated introductory period. This job description does not restrict management's right to change duties.

Requirements

  • General cleanliness of procedure areas, patient care areas, rest rooms, offices and all other areas requiring Environmental Services support.
  • Routine work includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping, surface cleaning all floors, walls, ceilings, sinks, mirrors, showers, commodes, windows, and other glass areas.

  • Performing linen and trash removal.
  • Performing terminal cleaning of isolation rooms or exam rooms as required.
  • Moving of furniture and other heavy equipment is accomplished as directed.
  • Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
