About The Position

The Housekeeper shall be responsible for cleaning common living areas and resident apartments in the community. This role involves overseeing the cleaning of the entire facility, with particular emphasis on the common areas and apartment bathrooms. The Housekeeper will also complete maintenance request reports, report any deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings, and operate laundry equipment when needed. Additionally, they will report inadequate quantities of supplies, use only approved cleaning products, and ensure proper storage of cleaning supplies. The role includes cleaning office areas, dusting and cleaning window blinds, dusting furniture and bookshelves, vacuuming common areas and apartments, and keeping common area and resident bathrooms clean. The Housekeeper will also clean apartments at resident move-out and attend required in-services and staff meetings. Maintaining resident privacy and confidentiality is crucial, and all policies regarding the release of resident information must be followed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
Ability to complete assignments thoroughly and on time
Ability to work well with others as part of a team
Polite and courteous to all residents, visitors, co-workers and management team
Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push and pull for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift 25 lbs and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet
Must wear designated uniform during work hours and maintain good personal hygiene
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

Cleaning common living areas and resident apartments

Operate the laundry equipment when needed
Report inadequate quantities of all supplies needed to perform duties to housekeeping supervisor
Use only approved cleaning products and ensure that all cleaning supplies are properly stored at all times
Clean office areas when assigned
Dust and clean all window blinds in the community
Dust all furniture, book shelves, etc. in resident apartments and common areas
Vacuum common areas and resident apartments
Keep common area and resident bathrooms clean
Clean apartments at resident move-out
Attend required in-services and staff meetings
Maintain resident privacy/confidentiality at all times. Follow all policies regarding release of resident information
