About The Position

The Housekeeper cleans and sanitizes public areas and residents’ apartments, helping maintain a positive and welcoming community for residents and guests. The role includes routine apartment cleaning, deep cleaning as assigned, handling cleaning supplies safely, and interacting courteously with residents. The Housekeeper also reports relevant resident health concerns, attends training, and responds to emergencies according to established procedures. The position is part time and is identified as Monday through Friday; occasional weekend, evening, or night work may be needed for shift coverage, and on-call availability is required as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and complete repetitive, well-defined tasks.
• Ability to complete cleaning tasks in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
• Ability to respect resident privacy and refrain from discussing residents’ personal situations or health issues with others.
• Ability and willingness to communicate with residents with varying levels of functioning and personalities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Available for occasional weekend, evening, or night work if needed for shift coverage and on-call work as needed.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Clean, polish, and sanitize gathering and public spaces, including lobbies, halls, stairwells, activity rooms, dining rooms, and elevators.
• Clean floors using appropriate methods, including sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting; set up and remove caution and safety signs appropriately.
• Clean carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
• Remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using appropriate cleaning and disinfecting solutions; handle and label hazardous cleaning supplies according to procedures.
• Clean public restrooms, including washing, sanitizing, and polishing fixtures and removing water marks.
• Deep clean apartments, furniture, window treatments, and designated community areas according to assigned timeframes and business needs.
• Perform basic apartment cleaning, including cleaning bathroom fixtures and floors, wiping kitchen surfaces, cleaning appliances, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Respect residents’ belongings and privacy; remove and return bed linens for cleaning and make beds with clean linens according to residents’ preferences.
• Log cleaning activities as required by procedures.
• Interact with residents and guests in a friendly, courteous manner, provide assistance and directions, and give residents meaningful attention.
• Communicate concerns about residents’ health to management as appropriate.
• Attend and participate in scheduled or directed in-service education and on-the-job training.
• Respond to resident emergencies by contacting appropriate internal and external parties according to protocol; may assist with disaster management and evacuations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
