Requirements

• Grade 12 minimum education.
• Two years or more of experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Capability to adapt to different situations and change.
• Keen interest in working with seniors.
• Awareness of employee responsibilities and adherence to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to work safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents.
• Alertness to and prompt reporting of all actual or potentially hazardous situations.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required.
• Prompt reporting of personal injury to supervisor and seeking first aid as needed.
• Participation in fire safety demonstrations and fire drills.
• Knowledge of the home's fire and disaster plan.
• Participation in annual training programs including WHMIS, Fire Drills, Resident Abuse, CPR, Safe Food Handling, and Infection Control, as per RHA and provincial legislation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe environment in the residence.
• Clean, dust, and vacuum resident suites, common areas (lounges, corridors, elevators), offices, staff areas, and other assigned areas according to Riverstone RC policies and procedures.
• Sanitize resident suites and other assigned areas as per Riverstone RC infection control policies and procedures.
• Clean vacant rooms and prepare suites for new move-ins as instructed.
• Clean and sanitize resident bathrooms and all other washrooms in the facility, including fixtures, tiles, floors, vanities, and mirrors.
• Collect and dispose of refuse and dirty laundry from resident suites, common areas, offices, staff areas, and other assigned areas in accordance with Riverstone RC policies and procedures.
• Clean and restock housekeeping carts daily.
• Report any necessary repairs or maintenance in work areas to the front desk or ESM.
