About The Position
Universal Health Services (UHS) is a leading healthcare provider with a strong record of achievement. Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (VBPC), a 100-bed psychiatric hospital, is seeking a Day shift Housekeeper. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The Housekeeper will be an active member of the environmental service department, responsible for ensuring the facility is kept in a clean, sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition. The position requires availability to work weekends and holidays and is a Full Time Day position.
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED required.
- Must possess knowledge of mopping, buffing, stripping, polishing vinyl and tile floors, shampooing carpets, lifting and moving furniture and ability to use cleaning equipment and compounds.
- Able to follow written and oral instructions.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years housekeeping experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serves as an active member of the environmental service/housekeeping department.
- Maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients.
- Assists in maintaining a safe, clean therapeutic environment.
- Maintain the facility in a clean, sanitary, orderly and attractive condition to provide a suitable environment for patient, staff and visitors.
