About The Position

Responsible for performing work aimed at preventing the spread of any diseases by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatuses. This role does not require direct patient care. The Housekeeper will perform cleaning duties in alignment with the organization and according to pre-established schedules and infection control guidelines. This includes completing waste stream removal, cleaning and servicing assigned areas according to established procedures, and moving furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around Medical Center departments. The position also involves operating assigned equipment such as floor machines and buffers, and maintaining assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times. Participation in a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually is also required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
Related experience 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely.
Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.

Responsibilities

Performs cleaning duties in alignment with the organization and according to pre-established schedules and infection control guidelines.
Completes waste stream removal.
According to established procedures clean and service assigned areas.
Move furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around the Medical Center departments, and performs a variety of cleaning duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.
Operates assigned equipment, (floor machines, buffers).
Participates in a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually.
Maintain assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe and sanitary condition at all times.
