Housekeeper I/II (40/E)
About The Position
When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. This position is 40 hours per week, with an evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and includes rotating weekends and holidays. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of assigned areas, including the maintenance and sanitation of equipment. They also perform function setups, handle moving requests, and execute related services such as bed moves and stocking housekeeping supplies. Additionally, the role involves collecting soiled linen from clinical locations throughout the hospital and transporting full linen carts to designated distribution points.
Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of hospital, departmental and infection control procedures.
- Ability to read, and write in English in order to understand basic safety instructions and take direction from supervisors; communicate effectively with patients, families and other hospital staff, and respond to basic questions.
- Ability to understand spoken English in order to follow basic safety instructions and take direction from supervisors; communicate effectively in basic English with patients, families and hospital staff in response to routine questions.
- Must be 18 years old.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining overall cleanliness of environment of assigned areas.
- Maintenance and sanitation of equipment.
- Responsible for function setups and moving requests.
- Performs related services, such as bed moves, stocking housekeeping supplies, etc.
- Collect soiled linen from clinical locations throughout the hospital.
- Transports full linen carts to designated distribution locations throughout the hospital.
