Housekeeper / Housekeeping Aide - Day Shift
About The Position
As a Housekeeper (or Custodian) in our medical center, you help create a safe, welcoming environment where residents can heal and feel at home. Your work supports dignity, comfort, and recovery every single day. We are serving mental health patients. Our residents are adults working to rebuild their psychological health and independence. They count on us. We take pride in creating a warm, welcoming home where everyone feels respected and cared for. This center is managed by TRANSITIONAL CARE MANAGEMENT. We currently provide comprehensive management services to several inpatient healthcare centers throughout Northern IL & the Chicagoland area. These settings include Long-term Care Skilled Nursing (SNFs), Short-term Care Rehabilitation, Intermediate Care (ICFs), and Behavioral Health Service (SMHRFs) centers.
Requirements
- At least 1 year similar experience in a medical / healthcare facility or commercial cleaning setting (strongly preferred)
- Must be 18 years of age or older AND hold a High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
- Understanding of Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) safety and sanitation rules
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to regularly push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds, and pass a pre-employment physical and background check.
- This position will require extended periods of walking and standing to perform duties
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain resident rooms and common areas
- Empty trash, clean bathrooms, wash windows, and care for floors
- Vacuum, sanitize, and prepare rooms for new residents
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout the building
