About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Housekeeper and Household Manager to oversee the daily operations and upkeep of a private household in San Francisco. This role is a blend of hands-on housekeeping and proactive household management. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean, organized, and well-functioning home environment while supporting daily routines, hosting needs, and special projects. The right person brings a calm, professional demeanor with a naturally discreet and unobtrusive presence in the home. The client values someone who works quietly and efficiently, takes pride in maintaining high standards without needing to be asked, and brings a warm, respectful, and gracious attitude to their work. Excellent communication skills, including strong English fluency, are essential. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, discretion, flexibility, and a service-oriented mindset.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in private household management and/or high-end housekeeping preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Calm demeanor and clear and professional communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions
  • High level of discretion and respect for privacy
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate needs
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
  • Flexibility to adjust responsibilities and schedule based on household and hosting needs
  • Strong English fluency

Responsibilities

  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization throughout the residence
  • Perform daily housekeeping duties with high attention to detail and consistency
  • Manage all household laundry, including sorting, washing, folding, ironing, steaming, and proper care of delicates.
  • Coordinate dry cleaning services, including drop-off, pickup, inspection, and proper storage
  • Ensure closets, drawers, and storage areas remain organized and well-maintained
  • Manage household supplies and shopping, ensuring all items are fully stocked, organized, and replenished proactively
  • Assist the Chief of Staff (COS) with overseeing maintenance schedules and coordinate with service providers (e.g., landscapers, handymen, cleaners, repair technicians)
  • Coordinate vendor access, supervise work when needed, and follow up on completed services
  • Lead home organization projects and manage seasonal transitions (wardrobes, linens, décor)
  • Ensure the home is guest-ready at all times
  • Handle household errands including grocery shopping, dry cleaning, returns, shipping, and receiving packages
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of household preferences, routines, and standards
  • Create and maintain a welcoming, comfortable environment for residents and guests
  • Assist with the preparation, execution, and cleanup of dinner parties, gatherings, and hosted events
  • Support event setup including table settings, décor preparation, staging, and coordination with vendors (chefs / caterers, florists, rental companies)
  • Assist during events as needed (serving, replenishing items, maintaining cleanliness)
  • Handle post-event breakdown, cleaning, laundry, and restoration of the home
  • Be available for occasional evenings and weekends when events or hosting require support
  • Run personal errands and handle ad hoc tasks as needed (shopping, pickups, returns)
  • Assist with travel preparation, including packing, unpacking, laundering, and organizing clothing and personal items
  • Support the Chief of Staff (COS) with special projects and household-related initiatives
  • Provide flexible support as household needs evolve
