About The Position

We are seeking a seasoned, self-directed, and deeply professional Household Manager to act as the operational hub of our household. This role requires someone who understands the rhythm of a private home, excels at coordination, oversight, systems, and execution, and can proactively manage projects, vendors, schedules, and household logistics with exceptional attention to detail. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, organized, genuinely loves animals, and brings a "fix it before they find out" mentality. This is not a housekeeping or culinary role, but rather one focused on ensuring the smooth and unobtrusive running of the household.

Requirements

  • Able to maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a private household or estate management setting.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Comfortable with regular overnight stays on property as needed.
  • Weekend and holiday availability required; must be flexible and responsive with schedule changes.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Must love and be comfortable around large dogs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with pet care, including feeding, walking, and administering medication.
  • Experience managing household vendors and contractors.
  • Experience with household organization and maintenance.
  • Experience with travel coordination and personal assistant tasks.
  • Familiarity with budget oversight and receipt tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Primary caregiver for our large, friendly lab, including daily feeding, walking, general care, and overnight stays on property when the family is away.
  • Schedule dog grooming and exercise appointments, as well as vet appointments.
  • Administer dog medicine and supplements as needed, and coordinate with the poop cleanup service.
  • Maintain and organize all pet supplies.
  • Maintain existing household organization systems, including light daily tidying, seasonal clothing swaps, decor changes, and bedding rotations.
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs, with an emphasis on closet organization projects.
  • Routinely check and replace batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors.
  • Maintain and clean humidifiers and air purifiers.
  • Organize and upkeep garage, mudroom, and entryway spaces.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for cleaners, contractors, landscapers, HVAC technicians, generator service, and sprinkler maintenance.
  • Oversee and direct the cleaning team, escalating concerns as needed.
  • Research vendors, gather quotes, and coordinate repairs.
  • Manage seasonal property maintenance, including outdoor furniture storage and preparation.
  • Oversee management of outdoor spaces and the vendors who maintain them.
  • Take garbage out to the curb and bring it back in.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and all household supplies on a regular basis.
  • Manage running household supply lists and place orders through various retailers.
  • Ensure dry cleaning is handled appropriately.
  • Collect and sort mail.
  • Assist with hosting holiday dinners, coordinating and picking up prepared meals, and light meal prep.
  • Perform grocery runs to local markets as needed.
  • Handle kitchen clean-up and general maintenance of food prep areas.
  • Coordinate dry cleaning drop-off and pickup.
  • Keep the laundry area tidy and well-stocked.
  • Oversee occasional deep cleans conducted by the cleaning team.
  • Take on organizational projects as they arise.
  • Refresh and maintain garage, mudroom, and entry spaces.
  • Track and submit household receipts and support basic budget oversight.
  • Coordinate travel planning, including contacting pilots, catering, handling car rentals, and hotel bookings.
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for travel.
  • Keep track of family birthdays, purchase, wrap, and ship gifts.
  • Manage shared apple calendar and coordinate with the Executive Assistant on all necessary appointments.

Benefits

  • $80,000 annually (W-2)
  • Overnight stays compensated in addition to base salary
  • 10 PTO days per year
  • Mileage reimbursement provided when family vehicle is unavailable
