About The Position

We are a vibrant, young family of five living in Park Ridge, IL, with the energy of three young children: two toddlers and a baby. Both parents work demanding roles with hybrid schedules, balancing time between working from home and spending time in the office. Despite the flexibility, we find ourselves constantly juggling work, childcare, and household tasks. We are looking for someone who can seamlessly integrate into our family, taking ownership of household responsibilities so we can alleviate the mental load. Our ultimate goal is to have more quality time to enjoy as a family when we’re at home, rather than feeling overwhelmed by the endless list of daily chores. We want to find someone who can not only handle the day-to-day tasks, but also grow with us as our family evolves. We’re looking for a long-term relationship with someone who can collaborate with us, share feedback, and contribute to making our household run more smoothly. We envision expanding the role in the future as the needs of our family change, and we’d love to find someone who is flexible and open to growing with us as we navigate the next chapters of our lives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and batch cook family dinners for the week, ensuring meals are healthy, easy to reheat, and cater to family preferences.
  • Rinse, chop, and prep fruits and vegetables for quick, healthy snacks and meal components.
  • Handle grocery shopping for meals and snacks, ensuring the pantry and fridge are well-stocked with fresh ingredients (preferably in-person shopping).
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring everything is in its place and ready for meal prep.
  • Manage washing, folding, and organizing laundry for all family members.
  • Maintain a tidy laundry area and ensure linens (bedding, towels, etc.) are regularly rotated and well-stocked.
  • Maintaining household organization systems and managing daily resets.
  • Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas) and preparing home for cleaners.
  • Seasonal swaps (clothing for the kids, bedding, décor).
  • Preparing and coordinating donation drop-offs.
  • Managing household inventory, including restocking pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Managing household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Costco, etc.).
  • Handling returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, and mail/package management.
  • Overseeing cleaners, landscapers, and contractors.
  • Researching and coordinating household repairs and quotes.
