Household Manager
About The Position
We are a lively family of four seeking a Household Manager to help keep our household running smoothly. With busy schedules and kids involved in sports, we need someone to offload household tasks so we can focus on spending quality time with our children. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive individual who can work independently and take pride in their work. The ideal candidate will be discreet, professional, and feel like a natural extension of our family dynamic. While direct childcare is not the primary focus, warmth and ease around children are valued, with occasional opportunities for date night supervision or backup pick-ups. This role involves managing household organization, laundry, errands, pet care, light meal prep, and administrative support, including calendar management.
Requirements
- Maintain a smoke-free environment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Reliable personal transportation required
- Ability to navigate multiple flights of stairs throughout the day
- Candidates are required to be up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, subject to applicable legal accommodations.

Responsibilities
- Create and/or maintain household organization systems
- Daily resets and prep home ahead of biweekly cleaner visits
- Light tidying including dishes, surfaces, and high-traffic area vacuuming
- Seasonal clothing, décor, and bedding swaps
- Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
- Packing and unpacking for family travel as needed
- Ad hoc maintenance tasks such as changing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors
- Restock essentials for pantry, fridge, and household supplies
- Collaborate on running household supply lists
- Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping as needed
- Wash, fold, organize, and put away laundry
- Ironing, steaming, and special garment care as needed
- Maintain tidy and well stocked laundry areas
- Light meal oversight, including taking items out of the freezer or monitoring a meal in the oven
- Grocery shopping
- Accommodate gluten-free dietary needs for one family member
- Kitchen clean-up and general maintenance
- Monitor and maintain food, water, and litter for the family cat
- Keep pet supplies stocked and organized
- Refresh entryways, mudroom, and other high-traffic areas as needed
- Organizational projects including closets, pantry, toys, and gear
- Prepare backpacks/clothing/sports equipment/snacks
- Kid-related errands
- Occasional light supervision for date nights or events
- Backup 5:00 PM pick-up as needed
- Manage household calendar (family uses Skylight)
- Provide proactive reminders to family as needed
- Track vehicle registration
