Our home is a busy, energetic household in Northwest D.C., grounded in warmth, routines, and the joyful rhythm of family life. Both parents have demanding careers that often include travel, so our days move quickly and rarely look the same. At the center of it all is our curious, easy-going toddler who keeps us on our toes, along with our lovable terrier mix who firmly believes the house revolves around him. We thrive when our home feels organized and cared for, and we know how much smoother family life becomes when the right systems are in place. We're looking for someone who enjoys creating that sense of order behind the scenes—the person who keeps the household running seamlessly. From resetting the home after a busy day, coordinating with vendors to preparing meals that make weeknights easier, and staying ahead of laundry and household organization, this role is about taking ownership of the many details that help our family function at its best. Requirements

Reliable, personal transportation (mileage reimbursement provided)
Candidates are required to be up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines (including general, COVID, and flu vaccinations), subject to applicable legal accommodations.
CPR and First Aid certified, or willingness to obtain
Comfortable around animals (we have one medium sized dog)
Maintain a smoke-free environment
Must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

Create and maintain household organization systems, including pantry organization and supply storage
Daily resets and prep home for cleaners
Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
Seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)
Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
Occasional guest and event prep as needed (e.g., birthday coordination)
Assist with packing and unpacking for travel
Manage minor home maintenance tasks: batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, and similar upkeep
Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
Manage running household supply lists
Assist with household orders and subscriptions
Manage returns, dry cleaning drop-off and pickup, and miscellaneous errands as needed
Mail and package handling; break down boxes
Be present at home to receive and oversee vendors, contractors, landscapers, and service providers
Research and coordinate repairs, obtain quotes, and follow projects through to completion
Light seasonal outdoor maintenance, including outdoor furniture care
Plan and prep healthy dinners 2-3 times per week (sous chef-style prep, chopping vegetables, marinating proteins)
Prepare simple, healthy foods for the toddler to be eaten throughout the week (roasted proteins, vegetables, etc.)
Follow dietary needs/preferences (crustacean and egg allergy)
Grocery shopping and fresh snack prep
Kitchen cleanup after meal prep and maintain kitchen tidiness
Wash, fold, and organize laundry for both parents
Follow specific garment care preferences, including delicate items to hang dry
Ironing and steaming as needed
Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area
Flexibility for occasional backup childcare on a weeknight or weekend basis as needed

Assist with vet and grooming scheduling
Maintain pet supplies

Occasional deep cleans (refrigerator, oven, baseboards)

Maintain awareness of the family calendar (Skylight), including household schedules
Receipt and budget tracking for expenses incurred as house manager
Assist with event and appointment coordination as needed
Schedule service and maintenance appointments for family vehicles
Ensure electric vehicles remain charged
Assist with cleaning and organizing as needed
