About The Position

This role will support two households within the same close-knit, fun-loving family. Both households are families of five (six if you include the family dogs!), with two parents and three children each. All the children are under the age of 10, and the families live just 15 minutes apart, in Lafayette and Alamo, respectively. The responsibilities will be split between the two homes, with two days spent at one family’s residence and three days at the other. Both families lead busy lives, balancing professional careers, active schedules, and lots of family activities. We are looking for someone who is highly detail-oriented, organized, and flexible, able to seamlessly transition between both homes while maintaining consistency and supporting the day-to-day operations in each. With two of the four parents stepping away from the corporate world to focus on family businesses and passion projects, we’re now ready to invest in an experienced, high-level house manager who will bring greater structure and ease to our households, allowing us to focus on what matters most: more time together with our friends and family. We have previously had support in our homes and hold a high standard for this role. We are seeking a seasoned House Manager who brings maturity, initiative, and a collaborative presence. Responsibilities

  • Household Management & Organization
  • Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure hope is prepped for cleaning services
  • Oversee household schedules and calendars
  • Assist with seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding, etc.)
  • Help prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions
  • Back-up point of contact for service providers/vendors (e.g., handymen, cleaners, landscapers)
  • Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas
  • Inventory Management & Errands
  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
  • Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
  • Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries
  • Meal Planning & Preparation
  • Plan and prep healthy meals/snacks for the family
  • Pack school lunches and batch-cook weekly.
  • Shop for groceries and meal-related items
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness
  • Laundry & Linens Care
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)
  • Iron, steam, and prepare outfits as needed
  • Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
  • Handle special care for delicates or uniforms
  • Pet Care
  • Feed the dogs occasionally
  • Keep pet supplies stocked and organized
  • Vehicle Management
  • Ensure vehicles are cleaned and organized
  • Family Support & Child Assistance
  • Back-up childcare
  • Prep backpacks, clothing, or snacks for school
  • Help with child-related laundry or errands
  • Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
  • Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.)
  • Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways, garage, mudroom, art shed)
  • Clean humidifiers, washing machines, and air purifiers monthly
  • Organize special projects: toy storage, seasonal decorations, gear rotation, office shed
  • Administrative & Personal Assistant Support
  • Assist with travel planning, scheduling, and logistics
  • Manage family calendars and reminders
  • Handle basic budgeting or receipt tracking
  • Assist with the coordination of events, appointments, and guest prep
