Household Manager & Family Assistant

Sage HausWestford, MA

About The Position

We are looking for an experienced, reliable Family Assistant to become a trusted part of a busy family's day-to-day rhythm. This is a hands-on role combining family support, driving, meal prep, organization, and household logistics, with plenty of autonomy for someone who enjoys taking ownership and making life run more smoothly behind the scenes. The family is active and busy with four children aged 9 to 4. The home is full of energy, love, and laughter, and while they keep a structured routine, they value flexibility and teamwork. The ideal candidate can manage chaos calmly, anticipate needs, and keep things running smoothly with a smile. While fast-paced, there's room for fun, creativity, and silliness. The role requires someone who will not only keep up with daily tasks but also bring positive energy and a warm presence.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed if using personal vehicle)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
  • Candidates are required to be up to date on recommended general vaccinations in accordance with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, subject to applicable legal accommodations.
  • Proactive & Self-Directed: You don’t need to be micromanaged. You anticipate what needs to happen next, take ownership, and follow things through.
  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: You understand the family’s daily rhythm and stay ahead of the small details — from meal prep and lunches to making sure activity bags are packed with the right clothing, gear, and equipment.
  • Reliable & Punctual: The family can truly count on you, particularly during busy afternoons when schedules, transportation, and activities need to run smoothly.
  • Flexible & Adaptable: You can roll with the punches and confidently pivot when schedules or priorities change.
  • Calm, Kind & Patient: You bring a warm, steady presence to the children, whether you’re helping with homework, moving everyone toward the next activity, or simply spending downtime together.
  • Able to Read the Room: You understand when it’s “go-time” and when the family needs a calmer, more easygoing energy, and you adjust naturally.
  • Comfortable with a Fast-Paced Household: You can juggle driving, activities, meals, schedules, and behind-the-scenes household needs without becoming overwhelmed.
  • Open to Feedback: You bring a growth mindset, receive feedback well, and are willing to adjust as you learn the family’s preferences and routines.
  • Warm & Easygoing: You bring positive energy and an orderly but relaxed presence to the home.
  • Ownership-Minded: Above all, you take pride in knowing the family’s rhythm, staying one step ahead, and helping keep everyday life running smoothly.
