About The Position

HH Helpers/ Driver Assistant reports to the Operations Manager. The role involves planning and executing assigned orders to exceed customer expectations, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain profitability for McCollister’s and its members. The Helper works directly for the driver, providing assistance with pick-up and delivery services for a variety of household and household goods commodities. The goal is to satisfy customers by providing individualized service according to established plans. The Helper identifies customer service problems to the driver and dispatcher for resolution and assists the driver with completing paperwork and communicating with customers and dispatchers. A valid Real ID is required for access to military bases.

Requirements

• A minimum 1 year's experience
• Experience working in the household moving industry
• McCollister’s helper certification
• Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing
• Ability to lift 75 lbs
• Positive communication skills
• Competent computer skills
• Candidate must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
• Must be organized
• Proven track record of working in a team environment and autonomously
• Act professionally at all times, especially with customers at a client location
• Strong work ethic
• Willingness to learn
• Customer service skills
• Very organized and work in a timely manner

Responsibilities

• Help execute shipment plans within the scope of branch operations and United Van Lines.
• Manage workload to maximize efficiency and exceed customer expectations.
• Assist driver to operate vehicle and equipment in the safest manner possible.
• Protect customer products and facilities.
• Identify significant customer service problems to the driver for resolution.
• Maintain accurate order status for accountability.
• Handling freight.
• Completing paperwork.
• Assist driver as needed.
