The St. Johns County Solid Waste Division oversees the effective solid waste operations throughout the County through its solid waste ordinance, exclusive residential contract, and its non-exclusive, solid waste franchise program. This involves weekly curbside collections of residential waste for nearly 120,000 residences including household garbage, recycling, and yard waste. In addition, the County also provides oversight of commercial/ industrial solid waste and construction & demolition debris collections through its franchise agreements. The Solid Waste Division strives to manage waste and recyclable materials as resources for the future benefit of our community with a focus and commitment towards providing residents, commercial businesses, and local governments with efficient, effective, and environmentally conscientious programs and services. Employees work in a team-oriented environment in a variety of divisions to provide the best services to our citizens. The newly selected Household Hazardous Waste Technician will be responsible for the proper storage and separation of the hazardous items.
