About The Position

The House Supervisor (Registered Nurse - Administrative/House Supervisor, PRN) at Texas Health Fort Worth plays a crucial role in representing facility administration, especially after business hours and on weekends. This position involves frequent rounding throughout the facility, serving as a resource for problem-solving, decision-making, and policy interpretation. The House Supervisor utilizes bed tracking systems to ensure timely bed assignments and minimal delays, supports units with staffing variances, and assists in identifying and improving ineffective processes. They are expected to model and encourage the use of High Reliability Organization (HRO) tools in daily practice.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • ENPC - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course 6 Months required Or PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 Days required
  • 5-year experience as a clinical nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor)

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
  • Three (3) years of emergency and/or critical care nursing experience preferred
  • Current Admin/House Supervisor and/or critical care (ICU) experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Represents facility administration after business hours and on weekends
  • Rounds throughout the facility on a frequent (at least 2 times/12 hours shift) and consistent basis
  • Serves as a resource for problem solving, decision-making, and policy interpretation, consistently making judgments based on reliable critical thinking and that are evidence-based
  • Utilizes bed tracking systems and other methods to meet timely assignment of beds and minimal delays, where applicable
  • Supports units with staffing variances and coverage based on unit/acuity staffing plan
  • Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve those processes
  • Models the use of High Reliability Organization (HRO) tools in everyday practice and situations and encourages staff to do the same
