About The Position

The House Supervisor RN at Providence Petaluma Valley Hospital in Petaluma, CA, is a Part-Time position working 12-hour Night shifts. This role reports to the Director of Nursing and is responsible for coordinating patient flow and supervisory activities of float staff during their assigned shift. The position serves as a nursing resource, intervening in difficult situations or medical crises, and advocating for the protection and rights of individuals, families, healthcare providers, and nursing and other professions, particularly concerning health and safety. The House Supervisor ensures the continuous coordination of operations across all hospital departments, aligning with the hospital's values, goals, and strategic plan. This role holds the authority and responsibility to make critical decisions in all emergency and safety-related situations. Additionally, the House Supervisor develops programs, policies, procedures, and standards of care to ensure patients' nursing care needs are assessed, evaluated, and met. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • California Registered Nurse License
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 1 year charge nurse or leadership experience and demonstrated leadership abilities

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of patient flow and supervisory activities of float staff during their assigned shift.
  • Serve as a nursing resource and intervene in difficult situations or medical crisis.
  • Advocate for the protection and rights of individuals, families, health care providers, nursing and other professions, especially related to health and safety.
  • Ensure the continuing coordination of operations of all hospital departments being consistent with the hospital's values, goals and strategic plan.
  • Exercise "command decisions" in all emergency and safety-related situations.
  • Develop programs, policies, procedures, and standards of care to ensure patients' nursing care needs are assessed, evaluated and met.
