About The Position

The House Supervisor RN plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within the healthcare facility. This position is responsible for overseeing nursing staff and coordinating patient care activities during assigned shifts to maintain smooth operational flow. The House Supervisor RN acts as a liaison between nursing personnel, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to address patient needs and resolve any issues promptly. They ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards while fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment. Ultimately, this role is essential in maintaining patient safety, staff efficiency, and overall quality of care throughout the facility.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and hospital management software.
  • Previous experience as a charge nurse or house supervisor.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities during assigned shifts to ensure effective patient care delivery.
  • Respond promptly to patient care issues, emergencies, and staff concerns, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, department heads, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate communication and problem-solving.
  • Monitor compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to maintain a safe and efficient care environment.
  • Conduct rounds to assess patient care quality and staff performance, addressing any deficiencies or concerns.
  • Assist in staff scheduling, resource allocation, and workload management to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and training to nursing staff to promote professional development and adherence to best practices.
  • Document and report incidents, staffing issues, and other relevant information to hospital administration.
