About The Position

The RN Administrative Supervisor is responsible for ensuring continuous and timely availability of nursing and clinical care to patients. S/he coordinates inpatient clinical care, and performs safe, prudent, economical care in accordance with nationally accepted standards of nursing care and practice.

Requirements

  • New Mexico or multi-state RN license
  • BSN preferred
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA) Moderate Sedation certification within 30-days from hire date
  • CPI within 6 months of hire
  • NRP required within 3 months from hire date
  • Supervisory Experience in an Acute Care setting minimum 1 year required
  • Critical Care Experience, minimum 1 year required
  • Minimum of 5 years RN experience preferred
  • Knowledge of theoretical approaches to the delivery of nursing care and strategies for examining and applying relevant concepts
  • Knowledge of current leadership, management and quality improvement concepts, and the ability to participate in developing and implementing organizational strategies to address opportunities to improve the delivery of patient care

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and facilitates patient care services, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and standards of patient care and nursing practice.
  • Functions as a member of the leadership team, and serves as a liaison between medical staff and caregivers. Promotes strong interdepartmental relationships and physician satisfaction to collaboratively achieve positive outcomes in providing excellent patient care.
  • Assigns and directs staffing to ensure caregiver patterns and ratios meet patient care and medical staff needs.
  • Serves as a resource to teach and build competency in nursing and other caregivers.
  • Assists with the preparation of the capital budget.
  • Ensures safe, efficient patient care and processes through participation in performance improvement activities and patient safety programs.
  • Demonstrates commitment to excellence in customer service and operational performance.
  • Works with caregivers to resolve problems, and keeps Directors informed of issues that arise.
  • Reports patient concerns and complaints to the Patient Liaison, according to policy.
  • Addresses caregiver performance issues.
  • Attends 75% departmental meetings
