The Concert Operations team is seeking a collaborative Part Time House Manager (17.5 hours/week). Reporting to the Associate Director of Front of House Operations, this hybrid role splits time between remote administrative planning (40%) and lively on-site event execution (60%). It is the perfect opportunity for an organized theater professional who loves live performances and thrives in a student-centered environment.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in a guest experience or front-of-house role within a performing arts or theater environment, including some supervisory experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of diplomacy when interacting with touring personnel, promoters, and the public.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to remain calm, focused, and solution-oriented under pressure.
  • Tech-savviness, with proficiency in Google Suite/Microsoft Office and a strong interest in learning event systems (such as Smartsheet, Etix, FileMaker, or When-to-Work).
  • Absolute flexibility to work a seasonal schedule consisting of nights, weekends, and holidays dictated by the college’s exciting academic performance calendar.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact during assigned events, managing crowd control, troubleshooting patron requests, and serving as the direct liaison for production teams, artists, and security.
  • Build detailed show info sheets, manage ticketing scanners, coordinate student usher event schedules, and evaluate front-of-house procedures to suggest creative process improvements.
  • Supervise and guide the student usher staff on a per-show basis, fostering a supportive, inclusive, and professional growth environment for student workers.
  • Coordinate venue accessibility layouts for patrons, ensure compliance with ADA standards, manage facility safety regulations, and safely secure facilities before and after events.
