About The Position

The House Manager - Medication Specialist supports the Program Manager in overseeing daily operations and residential programming for a substance use recovery program. This position ensures compliance with all Massachusetts regulatory requirements (BSAS), funder regulations, and HIPAA standards. The House Manager - Medication Specialist provides compassionate leadership and serves as a Residential Medication Support Specialist, ensuring safe and accurate medication administration within a supportive recovery environment. This role is required to be available for on-call responsibilities as determined by program needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Medication Specialist training certificate approved by BSAS required (or willingness to obtain during orientation), with annual recertification thereafter.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Narcan certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to or upon hire).
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, held for a minimum of six months, and maintain an acceptable driving record as required by agency policy and applicable state regulations.
  • Maintain valid state-mandated minimums for personal auto insurance and operate all vehicles - personal or company - in accordance with organizational driving safety policies and local driving laws.
  • Reliable transportation is required to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with a substance use disorder population, required.

  • Previous experience in a residential setting, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Program Manager in the daily operations of the program.
  • Implement maintenance and safety checks.
  • Coordinate purchasing food and supplies, ensuring proper inventory control.
  • Assist in admissions of new residents.
  • Oversight of client bedrooms being ready for admission.
  • Facilitate weekly orientation group.
  • Manage oversight of scanning & uploading of client files to their record.
  • Create weekly menus and support clients in meal planning.
  • Provide support and guidance in residents' common life skills.
  • Support the primary Residential Medication Support Specialist in day-to-day responsibilities and oversight functions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.
  • Monitor and document medication given to residents according to prescribed dosages and schedules.
  • Daily review checking for discrepancies with residents' medication sheets, report any discrepancies to program director.
  • Provide daily support and guidance to residents related to medication routines and overall well-being.
  • Train support staff with basic medication management duties.
