The North Carolina General Assembly's (NCGA) House of Representatives is seeking a highly qualified professional to work as a Legislative Clerk for the office of Representative Tim Longest. The Legislative Clerk will work with the elected member of the state legislature to fulfill their public obligations by providing support services in communication with constituents, coordination with other offices, administrative duties such as calendar management, research and other projects as assigned. This position requires a high level of organization and accountability and the ability to perform independently, maintain composure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and the ability to adapt to changes in plans and schedules. The position is a permanent, full-time position. Days of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, evening work may be necessary, and occasionally, weekend work may be required as the job duties demand, based on the needs of the Representative. This position is under the direct supervision of Representative Longest and has no direct supervisory responsibilities unless requested by the Member to assist in the supervision of an intern.
