About The Position

The House Leader oversees and takes the leadership role on a support team. The House Leader coordinates and manages all day-to-day support to ensure that the persons supported achieve their personal goals, build relationships, make informed choices, and exercise their rights. The House Leader ensures the support team has the resources necessary to help them facilitate people's participation in social roles that lead to integration into a typical and valued life in the community.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of Direct Support Work experience.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience.
  • DCSP or related post-secondary education.
  • Proficiency in computer programs.
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and organized.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Current criminal record and abuse registry checks.
  • First Aid Certification (level C).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive communication.
  • Maintain positive public relations.
  • Follow confidentiality and privacy policies.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide relief resources when needed.
  • Report changes to management.
  • Communicate regularly with supported individuals, families, and agencies.
  • Advocate for supported individuals when necessary.
  • Encourage expression of wants and needs.
  • Identify service needs and inform management.
  • Assist in program planning and management.
  • Participate in selection of individuals served.
  • Support property and transportation management.
  • Ensure secure record keeping.
  • Monitor funds for supported individuals.
  • Assist with scheduling and payroll.
  • Manage vacation, sick time, and overtime.
  • Complete administrative duties as required.
  • Attend leadership meetings.
  • Provide guidance to support workers.
  • Facilitate team development.
  • Assist in recruitment and orientation.
  • Conduct motivation meetings.
  • Communicate performance expectations.
  • Follow disciplinary policy.
  • Ensure resource availability.
  • Delegate tasks as needed.
