About The Position

As a key nursing leader, the House Coordinator provides both direct and indirect supervision for staff across all shifts — days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. This role ensures the smooth operation of hospital services by overseeing staffing, resource management, and patient flow, maintaining continuity of care in the absence of Department Directors or Managers. The House Coordinator serves as a central decision-maker, acting independently or in collaboration with other leaders, while occasionally providing direct patient care. This role is also responsible for maintaining confidentiality of employee and organizational information and functions under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager of Float Pool/House Coordinator. In addition, this position offers cross-training and dual responsibilities within the Transfer Center, providing professional growth and expanded leadership opportunities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
  • BSN required within 3 years of hire
  • Current RN license in Ohio
  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Code Violet training within 6 months of hire and annually thereafter
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required annually)
  • Clinical experience in an acute care setting
  • Demonstrated leadership or management skills
