Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Health Education from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social, Behavioral or Biological Sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university
  • One year of experience in public health education.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS/PrEP
  • Strong understanding of the National HIV Strategy and barriers to care
  • Ability to present to large and/or small groups

Responsibilities

  • Promotes, maintains, and improves individual and community health by assisting individuals and communities to adopt healthy behaviors.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, policies and environments.
  • Collaborates with health specialists and civic groups to ascertain community health needs, determine availability of services, and to develop goals.
  • Conduct community surveys to ascertain health needs, PrEP awareness events, develop desirable health goals, and determine availability of professional health services.
  • Develops and maintains cooperation between public, civic, professional, and voluntary agencies.
  • Plans and provides educational opportunities for health personnel.
  • Prepares and disseminates educational and informational materials.
  • Promotes health discussions in schools, industry, and community agencies.
  • Provides information to the public regarding health concerns and resources.
