About The Position

The Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences seeks a creative, motivated, and media-savvy Social Media Content Creator Intern to join our communications team. This intern will play an active role in developing engaging social media content that highlights the people, programs, and experiences that make Fulbright College a vibrant academic community. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current social media trends, be comfortable in front of and behind the camera, and possess a passion for storytelling through short-form video and visual media. Interns will work alongside the office’s full-time staff members and additional student interns to strategize and produce social media content for the college’s social media channels. Other content creation projects may be assigned, as this internship will be specifically tailored to the strengths and interests of the intern. The intern will have access to industry-standard equipment and software. In particular, our office uses Canon camera products, the Adobe Creative Suite, and Sprout Social. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience creating social media content

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated social media content creation experience for a brand or organization
  • Some experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere)
  • Some experience using Canva or similar tools for social media, including graphic and video creation
  • Some experience with photography and videography equipment, and the ability to edit photographs
  • Able to share portfolio pieces to demonstrate experience
  • Comfortable appearing on camera and representing the college in a positive, professional manner.
  • Preference given to Fulbright students, but all are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Create and edit short-form video content (Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.) for Fulbright College’s social media platforms.
  • Develop creative concepts and content calendars in collaboration with the college communications team.
  • Capture authentic, first-person and point-of-view content that showcases campus life, student experiences, and college initiatives.
  • Occasionally create or capture content outside regular office hours (e.g., during campus events, student activities, or other timely opportunities).
  • Flexibility is expected for occasional after-hours or weekend coverage; schedule adjustments will be made to accommodate these instances.
  • Assist with day-to-day social media management, including posting, community engagement, and performance tracking.
  • Brainstorm and pitch new ideas that align with college priorities, audience interests, and current social media trends.
  • Support photography, event coverage, and other multimedia storytelling efforts as needed.
