About The Position

This is a temporary position for a Hotel Sound and Video Technician. The role involves coordinating with bands for load-in/load-out and engineering their performances, touring the property to monitor systems, and performing quality control on audio-visual (A/V) systems. The technician will also answer telephone calls, respond to trouble calls from various departments, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment such as audio, video, sound, and projection systems. Additionally, the role includes assisting with upgrades and new installations of complex A/V systems, maintaining system service information and daily work logs, and driving company vehicles for off-property tasks. The technician will perform all duties necessary for the success of the department.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience working in the A / V field required
  • Must possess excellent technical troubleshooting skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor a must
  • High school diploma required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with digital, analog, audio and video processing systems preferred
  • Experience working with Master Antenna Television (MATV), Cable Antenna Television (CATV), Digital Music Express (DMX), or Digital Satellite System (DSS) signal distribution systems preferred
  • Experience working with audio / video signal distribution systems, sound system design or installation, fiber optics, AMX (Digital Control Switch), Creston, or another control system, Media Matrix audio systems, NEXSYS (Computer Network Control System), CobraNet, 70V or similar control systems, large screen projection systems, small screen projection systems, video walls, kiosks and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and Digital Light Processing (DLP) projection systems preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • OSHA 10 hr preferred
  • college degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with bands for load in/load out and engineer their performance
  • Tour the property and monitor systems to verify they are operating
  • Provide quality control on audio visual (A/V) systems to ensure they are working properly
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to trouble calls from various departments
  • Perform preventive maintenance on A/V equipment and systems
  • Troubleshoot the A/V systems and look for any potential problems
  • Repair and maintain electronic equipment such as audio, video, sound and projection systems
  • Assist with upgrades and new installation of complex audio, video, projection, automated control, switching and distribution systems
  • Maintain system service information and personal daily work logs
  • Drive / operate company vehicles to work off property and obtain needed parts and equipment
  • Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department
