About The Position

The Hotel Sales Manager will be responsible for soliciting and developing group account leads for The Blackwell Inn and Pfahl Conference Center. This role requires excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to soliciting new business, and the ability to exceed established goals for the designated market segment. The manager will actively participate in strategies to ensure the closing of each business opportunity to maximize revenue and ensure business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery in accordance with hotel standards. This position also involves managing accounts to achieve guest satisfaction, generating sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals, and capturing a higher percentage of the current market share. The role includes representing the property with prospective customers, conducting property tours, consulting with coordinators regarding detailed arrangements, and responding to leads efficiently. Effective communication with external and internal clients in a friendly, positive manner with confidence is essential. The manager must meet/exceed client needs and resolve client issues, even in challenging situations, while managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines. The role requires working well under pressure, being flexible and organized with attention to detail, and acting as a team player with a positive attitude. Excellent time management, prospecting, and negotiating skills are necessary, along with self-motivation, creativity, and energy. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft products, Amadeus/Delphi sales system, and knowledge of OPERA PMS, are required. The Blackwell Inn is a 24/7 operation, so this position will operate with a flexible schedule and will require some evening and weekend hours. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft products.
  • Proficient in Amadeus/Delphi sales system.
  • Knowledge of OPERA PMS.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or vocational training may be required.
  • Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
