About The Position

The Hotel Revenue Manager is responsible for evaluating the current booking window, preparing reports and analyses, and leading discussions on future issues. This role involves managing definite and tentative group bookings, analyzing their impact on occupancy, average rate, and rooms profit, and collaborating with the Sales Department on group rates. The Revenue Manager will also explore market mix variations to stimulate revenue, oversee internal incentive programs, and maintain revenue management software systems. Additionally, this position requires close collaboration with the Director of Sales & Marketing and the Front Office Director to ensure departmental objectives align with total rooms revenue management, with a focus on corporate marketing programs, special promotions, and various account types. The role involves establishing hotel pricing levels in all segments, managing daily room inventory, and working with regional commercial teams, hotel sales, management, and ownership to implement pricing, yield, and selling strategies. Monitoring competitor strategies, understanding local market dynamics, and communicating occupancy fluctuations are also key responsibilities. Finally, the Revenue Manager will assist with the annual hotel budget development and ongoing results analysis.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Revenue Management in New York City as a Revenue Manager or Director is required.
  • 2 plus years hotel management experience is required.
  • Must speak and write fluent English.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly Revenue Management Meetings to evaluate the current 50-week booking window.
  • Prepare all necessary reports and analyses for the Revenue Management Meeting.
  • Receive and analyze definite and tentative group bookings for their impact on occupancy, average rate, and rooms profit.
  • Review and approve group proposals with Sales and/or General Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Department on group rates.
  • Receive revisions to group bookings and prepare revised analyses.
  • Explore and provide variations in the market mix to stimulate additional revenue without increasing costs.
  • Oversee and evaluate the effectiveness of internal incentive programs for Front Office, Reservations, Sales, and Convention Services, providing payback analysis and assisting with adjustments.
  • Maintain software programs for managing rooms revenue, including Concerto, HCM, Opera, Delphi/Profit Pack, or other necessary systems.
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and the Front Office Director to ensure departmental objectives do not negatively impact total rooms revenue management, with special attention to Corporate Marketing Programs, Special Promotions, PCR customers, Local Volume Accounts, and Corporate Negotiated Accounts.
  • Establish hotel pricing levels in all segments.
  • Manage the daily room inventory management process and actively monitor group blocks to determine rooms availability for sale.
  • Work closely with the regional commercial team, hotel sales, hotel management, and ownership to establish and implement pricing, yield, and selling strategies.
  • Monitor competitor strategies and data, maintain an understanding of local market dynamics and demand generators, and present appropriate action plans to management.
  • Monitor and communicate fluctuations in occupancy to operational departments to manage staffing requirements and increase efficiency.
  • Assist with the annual hotel budget development and ongoing results analysis.
