About The Position

The Hotel Minibar Attendant is responsible for ensuring guests have a positive experience with the in-room refreshment center, aiming for high utilization and revenue. This role involves recording sales accurately and professionally using provided equipment, restocking bars with fresh products, and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of each refreshment center. The attendant must also effectively communicate any operational issues to supervisors and hotel management.

Requirements

  • Must be literate.
  • Must speak English.
  • Familiar with reading and understanding computer-generated reports.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Sense of order, alertness, and attentiveness.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Capable of working in a team environment as well as individually.
  • Able and willing to work 3-5 days a week, 4-8 hours/day.
  • Must be able to work weekend days and holidays.
  • Saturdays and Sundays are a must.
  • Physically fit.
  • Capable of standing, walking, and bending for long periods.
  • Able to push/pull a fully stocked cart.
  • Able to lift 35-40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Record all sales from the refreshment center in a timely, courteous, and professional manner using Minibar Systems-supplied equipment.
  • Restock all bars completely with fresh products.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of each refreshment center.
  • Effectively communicate any issues regarding the refreshment center operation to their supervisor and hotel management.
  • Complete opening procedures in the Minibar System, including preparing a list of rooms to inventory and preparing a restocking cart using FIFO.
  • Inventory rooms, record sales and occlusions using a handheld unit, and restock bars as instructed.
  • Ensure all in-room accessories and promotional materials are present and replaced if required.
  • Wipe down and clean bars as needed.
  • Perform basic minibar troubleshooting.
  • Note any maintenance issues and communicate them to management.
  • Maintain an awareness of products, product expiration dates, and inventory levels to prevent stock-out situations.
  • Deep clean 7 minibars and trays every day, ensuring expired product is removed and FIFO restocking is followed.
  • Remove any outside food that has been placed in the minibars by guests.
  • Return to and recheck DND rooms that were noted in the first refill round.
  • File reports in an orderly fashion.
  • Keep management informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance with respect to the refreshment center operation so corrective measures can be taken.
  • Receive and store products following FIFO when a new order is received, ensuring the Minibar storage areas are always kept clean and organized.
  • Clean restocking carts and the Minibar Office area.
  • Push the cart from room to room during the daily refill process.
  • Knock on room doors and announce oneself as instructed.
  • Close the refreshment center, relock if necessary, and exit the room, leaving it in the same condition as when entered.
