About The Position

This position is responsible for providing assistance in engineering operations, including maintenance and repair of hotel property, outside grounds, and hotel equipment. The role involves preventative maintenance, asset protection, and ensuring guest satisfaction by upholding high standards of quality. The associate will learn about maintaining property assets, preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, routine inspections, capital expenditures, and their impact on the hotel's financial success. Responsibilities include responding to guest requests, assisting guests with knowledge of hotel property and repairs, setting an example through exceptional guest service, assessing property assets through preventative maintenance, recommending maintenance solutions, executing engineering SOPs, and working collaboratively with other departments. The role also involves operating various machinery, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and following all company procedures for incidents.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis throughout shift.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Customer focused.
  • Ability to perform job duties in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience is preferred.
  • CPO certification is desired, or the ability to obtain certification based on property needs.
  • Appliance repair certification is desired, or the ability to obtain certification based on property needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in engineering operations, including maintenance and repair of hotel property, outside grounds, and hotel equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and asset protection.
  • Uphold high standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Learn and demonstrate the ability to maintain property assets.
  • Work with the Chief Engineer to understand preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, routine inspections, and capital expenditures.
  • Learn the impact of maintaining company assets on the overall financial success of the hotel property.
  • Assist and respond to guest requests in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Assist guests by having knowledge of hotel property, guest room repairs, and common area maintenance.
  • Set a strong example for other associates through exceptional guest service.
  • Assess and evaluate property assets through preventative maintenance.
  • Work with appropriate managers to recommend maintenance service solutions.
  • Learn, understand, and execute on all engineering SOPs with the Chief Engineer.
  • Work as a team player in meeting guest needs and contribute to the efforts of other departments.
  • Complete all assigned duties inside or outside the normal scope of responsibilities within the engineering department.
  • Drive carts, bobcats, and ice surfacing machines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with CSM, brand, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Use personal protective equipment when needed.
  • Follow all CSM procedures for guest/associate incidents.
