About The Position

This position is responsible for providing assistance in engineering operations, including maintenance and repair of hotel property, outside grounds, and hotel equipment. The role involves preventative maintenance, asset protection, and ensuring guest satisfaction by maintaining high standards of quality. The associate will learn about maintaining property assets, understanding preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, routine inspections, and capital expenditures. They will also learn the financial impact of asset maintenance on the hotel's success. The role requires assisting guests with requests in a friendly and positive manner, demonstrating knowledge of hotel property, and setting a strong example through exceptional guest service. The associate will assess property assets through preventative maintenance, work respectfully with managers to recommend maintenance solutions, and execute engineering SOPs under the guidance of the Chief Engineer. Teamwork is essential, including meeting guest needs and supporting other departments. The role may involve completing duties outside the normal scope of the engineering department and operating equipment such as carts, bobcats, and ice surfacing machines. Maintaining a clean and safe work area in compliance with regulations, using personal protective equipment, and following incident procedures are also key responsibilities. The associate must be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures, manage workload through planning and organization, and adhere to attendance policies and meeting requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis throughout shift.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Customer focused.
  • Ability to perform job duties in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience is preferred.
  • CPO certification is desired.
  • Appliance repair certification is desired.
  • Ability to obtain CPO or appliance repair certification based on property needs.

Responsibilities

  • Work with appropriate managers to recommend maintenance service solutions.
  • Learn, understand, and execute on all engineering SOPs.
  • Work as a team player in meeting guest needs and support other departments.
  • Complete all assigned duties inside or outside the normal scope of responsibilities within the engineering department.
  • Drive carts, bobcats, and ice surfacing machines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with CSM, brand, local, state and federal regulations.
  • Use personal protective equipment when needed.
  • Follow all CSM procedures for guest/associate incidents.
  • Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
  • Produce required volume of work by planning, organizing and prioritizing work duties.
  • Adhere to CSM attendance policy, general work rules and department procedures.
  • Attend all required department and hotel meetings.
